Step Into the Storm

Every time I sit down to write, my anxieties flood through my mind and make it hard to concentrate.  I’ve been meditating a bit before I start, and I decided to write down my thoughts: 

 

Step Into the Storm

 

It roars

Square your shoulders

Let it blow

Breathe

Move forward

Step into it

The debris collides with you

Let it blow

Breathe

You’re still standing

Move to the center

Move to the calm

Let it blow

Breathe

Watch the moving pieces

Fear   Family   Shame  Dread   Accusation   Anger   Grief   Failure   Anxiety.

Let it blow

Breathe

It won’t stop you

Let it blow

Breathe

Move to your desk

Let it blow

Breathe

Pick up the pen

Let it blow

Breathe

Face the blank page 

Let it blow

Breathe

Do the work

Let it blow  

Breathe
